Albertville is located in Marshall County in northeast Alabama and is approximately one hour south of Huntsville and 30 minutes north of Gadsden on US Hwy 431. As a micropolitan, Albertville is the largest municipality in the county and the trade area, which encompasses a 20 mile radius and accounts for approximately 158,000 people.

In spite of the recent recession, Albertville has experienced tremendous growth. Since 2012, three new industrial companies have constructed facilities and five existing industries have expanded in Albertville resulting in $103 million in capital investment and 837 net new jobs. Albertville City Schools is experiencing record enrollment and employment causing construction projects for additional classrooms, new media centers and gymnasiums. Downtown revitalization efforts are ongoing with the adoption of a Master Plan and a downtown streetscape project in the design phase that will result in new sidewalks, pedestrian lighting, landscaping and new intersection signalization. Six new restaurants and stores have opened thus far due to these efforts. The City is also investing in infrastructure with major street paving initiatives, purchase of new Senior Center facility, construction of new concession and restroom facilities at the Parks & Recreation complex and downtown streetscape project.
Current and Future Development
GBT Realty recently completed construction of a new 135,000 sq. ft. shopping center with Hobby Lobby, TJMaxx, Ross Dress for Less, PetSmart, Hibbett Sports, Rack Room Shoes and others that opened in the spring of 2016. Local developer Jeff Beck is also constructing an 88,000 sq. ft. shopping center with Dunham Sports, VF Outlet and Ollies Bargain Outlet serving as tenants. LOI's have been submitted for remaining space so additional tenants should be announced soon. The Cross Roads Mall Annex is expected to open early summer of 2016.
