The City of Ceres is located in the central San Joaquin Valley, 80 miles south of Sacramento and 95 miles east of San Francisco, in the heart of Stanislaus County. Ceres is in one of the Central Valley's richest and most diverse agricultural areas and is the home to many employers and manufacturers, including G3 Enterprises, Winco Food Distribution Center, and Kingspan Industries, Inc. Even the name "Ceres" originates from the Roman goddess of agriculture.
Ceres is a growing community approaching 50,000 residents with a heartfelt commitment to retaining its small neighborhood personality. Businesses, organizations, and nonprofit community service groups band together for a number of activities throughout the year. Ceres Unified School District consistently ranks among the top education providers in Stanislaus County.

Current and Future Development
Ceres is poised to see significant economic development from a large highway-oriented regional commercial center now in the entitlement process at its southerly gateway from State Route 99, including nearly 100 acres of developable land ready with recent infrastructure extensions and a new planned freeway interchange at Service Road and 99. As Ceres updates its comprehensive General Plan, we are envisioning an even brighter future!
