Hemet is a city in the San Jacinto Valley in Riverside County, California, United States. It covers a total area of 27.8 square miles of the valley floor and is just 10 miles east of Menifee, 15 miles North of Temecula wine country, and 45 miles west of Palm Springs and other desert communities. As a growing bedroom community to western Orange County and Northern San Diego County, Hemet is home to almost 36,000 housing units and serves as the "main retail hub" of the San Jacinto Valley for shopping, employment and services.

Hemet's population increased by 6% since April 2013. This increase is accounted for by roughly 792 additional completed residential units along with an overall increase in the average persons per household factor.
