Site is flat, vacant, and located immediately adjacent to commercial uses. All infrastructure is installed in immediate vicinity. Galt currently lacks high-density residential opportunities. The City's recently adopted Housing Element identified this site as one needed to provide such high-density development for the City. The City is currently amending its zoning ordinance and zoning map to designate the site as R4 (high-density residential) and to allow developers and staff complete flexibility in designing a project that will best fit this site, rather than relying on traditional zoning requirements (the new regulations are expected to be effective in May 2015).
