Site Description

Two beautiful buildings (two owners), one of which was built by William Weeks and housed his office, adjacent to Watsonville's beautiful historic Downtown Plaza. The City is looking for a developer to assemble these parcels and create a live-work development inside the existing buildings.

Local Description

We recently heard from the owners of both buildings that they are interested in selling. We would like to facilitate a relationship with a developer experienced at rehabilitating and converting historic buildings. Both buildings are structurally sound and have undergone seismic retrofitting. We believe that these properties could have some beautiful apartments upstairs and quality retail below. The building with the mansard roof and colonnade has unused flats upstairs and could be a wonderful restaurant. Demand for housing is high with urban housing near services going for as much as $3 a foot in Santa Cruz County. The City is making substantial investments in its Downtown.
