The side is located in downtown Walnut Creek and is currently occupied by two buildings and a surface parking lot. The goal of redeveloping these parcels into more intensive retail activities. Assembling the parcels will allow more opportunities for superior design, a significant pedestrian paseo, and plaza or courtyard, which is a requirement for the redevelopment of this site. The new development should complement the town scale and character of the surrounding buildings. Required parking could be provided through the use of in-lieu parking fees, if approved by the City Council at the time of development approval.
